As of January 1, 2004 British Columbia’s new Personal Information Protection Act will govern the collection, use and disclosure of personal information. The Act applies to all B.C. business. Sau San Tong Slimming & Beauty (“SST”) is committed to keeping your personal information secure. The following is our policy with respect to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information.
Collecting and using personal information
In the course of carrying our business, SST is trusted with personal information about its customers and other individuals. We understand the private nature of this information, and promise to limit its collection, use and disclosure to the appropriate purpose for which it was gathered.
Personal information includes such items as your name, address, gender, age, family status, weight, medical and other personal identification information.
SST collects and uses personal information for the following purposes:
- To establish and maintain a business relationship.
For example, we need to obtain your name, address, telephone numbers, weight,
Height and your medical information in order to start a customer profile for you.
Knowing your medical information helps we develop a slimming or beauty program specially catered to your needs and goals.
- To Develop and improve products and services
We collect personal information about the products and service you purchase or use in order to further improve those products and services. We may use that information to offer service recommendations or bring new products to your attention.
- To understand your needs and preferences.
In order to provide you with better service, we may ask for additional information.
- To manage our business and operations.
We analyze your use of our products and services in order to better manage our business, system requirements and rate changes.
When we share personal information
SST will not share your personal information unless it is done with a strict understanding that it is for a specific, legitimate business purpose. Some examples of when personal information may be disclosed include:
- To enable the provision of services-to a related company or third party agent that provides services such as: billing, payment collection or customer service.
- To protect a person or persons from imminent danger- to a public authority or its agent in order to preserve life or property.
- Research or business planning – to a third party retained to perform research on business planning activities.
- In specific confidential situations – to third parties in connection with a proposed sale of part or all of SST.
- For legal compliance – for law enforcement purposes and to the extent requirements or regulatory orders.
